Professor Leo Katz Abstract: Justifying the entrapment defense has been a long-standing challenge. Looking at entrapment as a special case of the actio libera in causa one can gain a rather different perspective on it than the previous literature has offered, and understand better why the search for a good justification has proved so elusive and what a more satisfactory one might look like.
